GERD Question

For those of you with GERD from your Ehlers Danlos, how do you get around your stomach acid going into your mouth when you bend over? Gross, I know – sorry.

I’m trying to lose weight & I think that will help a lot with the symptoms.

I try not to bend over after eating or drinking. Also, eating smaller meals helps. But I can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

Thanks Barbara – I'm supposed to be doing the smaller/more frequent meals thing anyway because of the POTS but don't do such a good job at it.

I'm on nexium for the GERD and that seems to help alot. But also eating smaller meals has helped as well.

  • Oh, the acid in your mouth. Yep, I know that all too well. I ended up cutting out the following foods: Wheat, red meat, dairy, corn, and preservatives. It's been the only thing that helped me. Let me know if you've got any questions….
